 You look above your head to see hawks, owls, eagles, and falcons flying above you. You see a fox in the distance, hunting a rabbit with the usual fox's speed. From the darkness, you see a small head of a serpent, staring at you with deadly eyes. What happens, when you can't till prey, from foe and friend?
Each Clan holds the ability in their bloodline to shape-shift into another animal. HawkClan into hawks, eagles, and falcons which gives them the freedom of flight and the speed of it. OwlClan into owls which gives them the ability to see well in the night, as well as in general. FoxClan into foxes which gives them the smarts to out think almost every other Clan...as well as a nasty sense of humor. Finally there is SerpentClan, who can shift into serpents and share their deadly mind.
Their abilities gives them a chance to make their camps in places no other Clan could reach, giving them more protection. It gives them the ability to check their border easier and swifter. However, what else it gives them is a force to be reckon with. SerpentClan is out there, watching the other Clans with a gaze that does not waver. They have a pride in themselves matched by none of the other Clans, and they have a hard time believing in StarClan in the ways the other Clans do. They hold a close relation to FoxClan as a possible Allie, but only because they know that the Clan has a tricky mind and SerpentClan admires that. They hate seeing the undying loyalty these other Clans hold for they know that that loyalty is only a show of fear; fear in the death that will come with certain events.
Fear is a word that serpents do not use. There are few cats in SerpentClan that hold the loyalty that the other Clans do. The loyalty, that FoxClan, HawkClan, and OwlClan believe you need if you ever died from old age while in your shape-shift form. After all, if only cats can join the ranks of StarClan, and you were to die in your shape-shift form from old age when you cannot shift back easily on your own...will you be forced to wander on your own through the darkness like those who are banished from StarClan for going against the Warrior Code?
